Kahoot is a fun and interactive online learning platform where you can create, play, and share quizzes, surveys, and challenges with others. It's like a game where you answer questions and earn points to compete with friends, family or classmates. You might already be familiar with Kahoot from student projects or family quiz nights, but have you ever gone looking for a quiz and wanted one that was a little more polished?

Current research* shows that platforms such as Kahoot
  1. have effectiveness in enhancing student engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes;
  2. increase student engagement and active participation in classroom settings;
  3. can be utilized across a range of subjects and educational levels;
  4. have the potential accessibility for diverse learners, including those with disabilities;
  5. impact knowledge retention;
  6. are a good source for remote and blended learning.

Three Steps to Find a GOOD QUIZ on Kahoot:

  1. Open your account and go to the 'Discover' page
  2. At the top of this page, use the 'search' function and enter possible keywords that can help narrow down your interests
  3. You can also manage the subject (even Math), language, and grade on this page, as well as sort by relevance, most played, and highest quality

If you are a student, you can use Kahoot to:
  • Make learning fun, create quizzes with your study materials and challenge your friends to play. Many people worldwide organize Kahoot night activities to make events more entertaining.
  • Kahoot helps you remember what you've learned and challenges your knowledge in a game-based way. For example, you can learn a foreign language at any level using Kahoot as a tool for word repetitions. The most challenging aspect of any language is vocabulary, so the platform can reinforce what you've already learned and assist you in learning more.
If you are a teacher, you can use Kahoot to:
  • Create courses and establish your own teaching blog on this platform to assist people in their learning journey (example here);
  • If you don't have time to create a quiz, the platform has many ready-to-go quizzes, slides, and assignments created by educators;
  • Help students learn at home using Kahoot. You can assign students to take a quiz, set a deadline, and provide a link for this assignment. When students complete the assignment, you will be able to see a progress report.
